Help Overview

Choose And Fit A Ship

Select a hull for its intended task and install modules based on their complete stat changes.

Use as active ship

Switch ships on planets, moons and dwarf planets for 1 navigation point. Cargo and contracts move with you. Ships keep their installed modules; only the Rusty Shuttle returns its modules to inventory.

Buying a ship activates it and costs 1 navigation point. Your cargo must fit in its hold.

Used navigation points are retained when switching. Cancel active autopilot first.

The Rusty Shuttle becomes permanently defective after your first ship purchase and remains in your fleet.

Understand Ship Stats

Shield absorbs damage first. Hull is the final defense layer. If hull reaches zero in a normal duel, the ship is disabled for that fight but is not permanently destroyed.

Cargo is storage capacity. Effective speed equals navigation points per tick, agility affects hits and evasions, and firepower affects offensive strength.

Slots limit the number of installed modules. Higher fuel efficiency reduces normal travel credit costs, and scan range supports exploration.

Select A Hull For Its Task

Freighters prioritize cargo and durability over combat performance. Combat ships exchange cargo capacity for speed, agility, or firepower.

Hybrid ships support both trade and defense. Special ships focus on exploration, heavy cargo transport, or advanced progression goals.

Do not choose by price alone. A less expensive hull suited to your route can be more useful than a ship whose repairs you cannot afford.

Review The Complete Fitted Stats

Modules change effective ship stats. Some include penalties, so check the complete fitted result rather than only the bonus.

Weapons, shields, hull reinforcement, engines, cargo systems, and scanners support different tasks.

Installing a module from inventory, buying and installing one, or removing one costs one navigation step. Removed modules return to inventory.

You cannot remove a cargo module if current cargo or reserved delivery capacity would exceed the reduced hold. Reduce occupied capacity before changing the fitting.
