Help Overview

Manage Role, Reputation, And Progression

Choose targets carefully, earn experience, and meet level requirements for new equipment and navigation.

Let Combat Actions Determine Your Role

Every character starts as a trader. You do not select a class during setup; your attack history determines your role.

Traders are neutral. Pirates attack lawful characters. Bounty hunters improve their standing by attacking outlaws. Marauders attack a mixed set of targets.

Nearby role colors provide a quick indicator: neutral for trader, red for pirate, blue for bounty hunter, and violet for marauder.

Change Reputation And Claim Bounties

Attacking traders or bounty hunters lowers your reputation and moves you toward an outlaw role.

Attacking pirates or marauders raises your reputation and supports a bounty hunter role.

Bounties indicate potential risk and reward. Outlaws can increase their bounty through unlawful attacks, while successful bounty hunters can claim part of it.

Increase Experience, Level, And Rank

Experience from combat and profitable trade increases your level. Higher levels unlock stronger modules, planned navigation, and additional milestones.

Ranks progress through Cadet, Ensign, Lieutenant, Commander, Captain, and Admiral tiers.

Rank alone does not determine combat results. Ship class and installed modules can have a greater effect in a specific encounter.
