Running Delivery Contracts
Accept an available offer, reserve any required cargo space, and complete delivery before its deadline.
Use as active ship
Switch ships on planets, moons and dwarf planets for 1 navigation point. Cargo and contracts move with you. Ships keep their installed modules; only the Rusty Shuttle returns its modules to inventory.
Buying a ship activates it and costs 1 navigation point. Your cargo must fit in its hold.
Used navigation points are retained when switching. Cancel active autopilot first.
The Rusty Shuttle becomes permanently defective after your first ship purchase and remains in your fleet.
Find Offers On Contract Boards
Delivery contract boards operate on sufficiently habitable planets, moons, and dwarf planets. The Contracts page shows local offers when the current location has a board and shows your active contracts from any location.
Each board contains five to ten offers. Accepted and expired offers are replaced gradually, generally at no more than one new offer per hour. Unaccepted offers expire after three days.
Most offers are local. Charted systems connected by a wormhole can also receive higher-paying cross-system offers, while unknown destinations remain hidden. Reach the listed origin before accepting an offer.
Check All Terms Before Accepting
Each offer lists cargo quantity, space per unit, total reserved space, route length, destination, priority, credit reward, and XP reward.
A captain may hold at most five active delivery contracts. Each offer is exclusive and disappears when another captain accepts it.
Normal contracts expire three days after acceptance. Urgent contracts pay higher rewards but expire after 12 hours. Check the exact due time shown on the contract.
Maintain Reserved Cargo Capacity
Accepting a physical delivery reserves the required capacity on your current ship. The shipment is separate from market cargo, but its reserved space counts when buying goods, scanning the ship, and changing cargo modules.
Documents and some other assignments use no cargo capacity. The largest special shipment requires 400 units, so you must install enough cargo capacity before accepting it.
When switching ships, deliveries and their reserved capacity transfer to the new ship if all cargo fits. Cancelling the contract or allowing it to expire releases the reserved space.
Complete Delivery Before The Deadline
Reach the listed destination before the deadline, open Contracts, and select Complete delivery. Reaching the destination alone does not complete the contract or grant rewards.
A successful delivery grants the listed credits and XP. Delivery XP uses the same per-tick progression limit as profitable trade.
You can cancel an accepted contract at any time, but its shipment is removed and no reward is granted. Expired and cancelled contracts cannot be recovered.
